Hi,
my name is Steve and I am a guitar teacher. I take private pupils, singly, and
in pairs if you are feeling a little nervous, and also teach at evening classes
at Halewood Comprehensive in Liverpool. The styles I teach are all variants of
fingerstyle, sometimes called finger-picking, picking, alternate bass style, Travis
picking, thumb and fingers or even (an ugly term) claw-hammer. The music is composed
of tunes, songs and instrumentals from the repertoire of ragtime, country blues
and folk music.
Lessons can be undertaken at my home, here in Runcorn
in the North West of England, over the Internet, or even by post. There is no
need to worry about being able to read standard music notation - all lessons are
conducted using tablature - a much faster, simpler and easier way of getting across
what you need to know to play a fretted string instrument - (i.e. acoustic guitar).
If you would like to check out some of my arrangements and playing please look
at my tablature page where you will find many of my own
arrangements and those of my friends in TablEdit format.
N.B.: I currently do not take on students due
to all my time being involved with rECOrd and biological/biodiversity
recording. Sorry! |
